SABG employee James “Rich” Bodin was named the Director for Test’s (DT) Contractor of the Year for Administrative Support at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Test Functional Area 2019 Annual Awards.
Rich serves as the MDA DT Site Collection and Portal Manager for various portals. His dedication, ingenuity, and tireless efforts resulted in key contributions to the optimization of resources over the past year.
- Portal Management and Updates: Rich integrated and managed DT’s portals and extensive electronic documentation libraries, which are in constant use and directly support MDA’s capacity to prove the power of missile defense through testing. He also devised and led major updates to the DT portal, improving navigability and tracking tools.
- Help Desk Support: He resolved 1,465 help desk tickets and created 46 subsites, resulting in 1,073 total InfoPath submissions in 2018 alone.
- SharePoint Test Event Recognition Database: In his role maintaining the SharePoint Test Event Recognition Database (which he developed in 2013), Rich created 15 efficient, user-friendly sites for individual tests to submit and track hundreds of awards across DT organizations.
- Email Distribution Streamlining: He took on the sizeable task of automating DT’s e-mail distribution group process by identifying discrepancies between databases and nesting distribution groups for seamless flow of information. Rich’s innovative, efficient application requires only a few minutes to implement, saving team members a great deal of time.
Rich has exceeded all performance expectations and has provided invaluable, innovative solutions to the MDA DT Program. His drive and ability to optimize every available technical tool were instrumental to sustaining the DT battle rhythm and saved the government countless hours. All the while, he was never too busy to lend time and expertise to colleagues.
