The Platinum HIRE Vets Medallion Award is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award that acknowledges employers’ proven commitment to supporting our nation’s heroes. Eligibility is based on precise criteria, including veteran hiring and retention, veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, devoted human resource professionals, and compensation and tuition assistance programs.
U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie A. Su on this unique program: “The HIRE Vets Medallion Program is authorized by Division O of Public Law 115.31, the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017 (HIRE Vets Act). It is the only veteran employment award at the federal level. By meeting the criteria for a 2023 Platinum Award, you have shown that you not only honor our veterans, you recognize the value veterans bring to the workplace and you support their success in America’s workforce.”
Each year, around 200,000 service members transition from military to civilian life equipped with skills learned in the field. Veterans are an invaluable asset to the workforce, bringing a mission-focused approach, strong work ethic and technical skills, and hands-on experience working with diverse teams.
