We are honored to be recognized for this award, as it is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award that acknowledges employers’ proven commitment to supporting our nation’s heroes. To be eligible, employers must meet an array of precise criteria, including veteran hiring and retention, veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, devoted human resource professionals, and compensation and tuition assistance programs.
Each year, around 200,000 service members transition from military to civilian life equipped with skills learned in the field that are transferrable to the work force. Veterans are an invaluable asset to any group, bringing a mission focused approach, strong work ethic and technical skills, and hands-on experience working with diverse teams. Recruiting these individuals not only offers us an opportunity to thank them for their service but allows us to take substantial action to serve them in their return to civilian life.
