This is the second consecutive year SABG has been recognized for our commitment to supporting working parents through family-friendly policies and practices.
We are honored to receive this designation, facilitated by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce. To be eligible, employers must demonstrate their commitment to the unique needs of working parents and their families. Specific criteria to meet for this designation includes company-paid health care coverage, paid time off, childcare assistance, flexible hours, and telecommuting options when possible.
According to a McKinsey study, more than 15 million U.S. workers quit their jobs from 2020 to April 2021 and 45% percent of those surveyed said needing to take care of family was a key factor in their decision. Additionally, 83% of millennials will leave one job for another with stronger family policies and better family support.
The “Best Place for Working Parents®” designation brings together a group of like-minded employers who prove that being family-friendly is not only good for employees but also good for business. Establishing and maintaining policies with working parents in mind expands the recruiting pool and leads to happier, healthier, and more productive team members.
